OUR VISION

DeAngelo's Hope is a therapeutic art program created specifically to address adverse childhood experiences. Adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) can have a tremendous impact on future violence victimization and perpetration. Youth-serving and faith-based organizations, coaches, and caregivers can help prevent adverse childhood experiences (ACEs). Raising awareness of ACEs in communities and how to prevent these experiences can help children and youth grow up and thrive in a safe, stable environment. Amani Justice, Inc. along with our community partners will establish a spirit of hope and optimism to create lasting and positive impacts in communities.

Founder

Adisa Pruitt

Adisa Pruitt is the author of Fragments of the Unbroken: A Mother’s Fight for Justice, Healing, and Hope, a deeply personal memoir that chronicles her journey through generational trauma, loss, and resilience after the disappearance of her son, DeAngelo “Dee” Allen.

A devoted community activist and board member of Parents of Murdered Children (East Alabama Chapter), Adisa channels her pain into purpose. She is the founder of Amani Justice, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to ending all forms of violence through advocacy, education, and healing-centered community work. Through Amani Justice’s signature program, DeAngelo’s Hope, she uses art as a therapeutic tool to help children process trauma and overcome adverse childhood experiences.

In addition to her advocacy, Adisa is a mixed-media artist whose work explores the intersections of grief, hope, and rebirth. Her art and writing serve as both a personal act of healing and a call to action for others seeking restoration after loss.

Fragments of the Unbroken by Adisa Pruitt

Fragments of the Unbroken is the story of survival through devastation. It is about what it means to carry grief in your body, to fight for justice when no one is listening, and to refuse to let tragedy define you. It is a memoir about family, loss, resilience, and the desperate, unshakable love of a mother searching for her son.

At its core, Fragments of the Unbroken is about carrying both grief and hope in the same breath. It is about learning to honor the dead while choosing to live. And it is about finding light, even when all you have left is a fragment of it.
